Frequently Asked Questions

  • Fine art photography can satisfies both an emotional attachment for home decor but also a financial attachment. You as a buyer have to think about what it is that you want the piece for.

If you are collecting a piece for decor purposes, focus on the mood of the image and how you want it to be portrayed within a room. Also focus on what size you want and how it fits within the room. This can be a large statement piece or a photo that helps tie the rest of the room together cohesively. The color of the photo also plays a large part in how it fits within a room.

If you are collecting as an investment, there are a few key factors to look into. First being, what is the edition size of the print and how many are still available. If a print only has a few editions left, that shows that the photo is popular and has possibly a higher value to collectors. You also have to look at the artist and see what kind of awards or recognition they have within the community. Lastly the quality of the piece is important. If the print is made with longevity and quality in mind, they will last longer and have more chance to appreciate in value.

  • Emotion. If a piece calls to you and makes you feel something, if the piece aligns with things you are interested in or shares the same values then the piece is right for you.

Another thought is how does this piece go with the rest of your collection or is this the start of a collection? If you feel an emotional attachment and it fits within the rest of your collection or fits your room and the vibe you want to portray, the photo is for you.

  • The first thing you have to look at is where do you want to place the photo in your home. The size of the art interacts differently depending on placement.

If you are looking for a piece to go in a hallway, a small nook or even thinking about pairing with another piece in your collection, a smaller piece is the way to go.

Medium sized prints go well in areas like the bedroom or an office. Usually in these areas you have a little more real estate for wall art and can step up in size.

Large prints above 40 inches like wide panoramic photos work best as a statement piece hanging in the living room. They also work well if you have a dedicated “feature” wall in your home. These work great in corporate settings as well.

  • Cleaning your print varies by which medium you chose.

If you bought a fine art Hahnemühle print, you must first frame the print behind glass to protect the print. When handling the print avoid putting your finger prints on the image. The oils in your skin will damage the print. Make sure to grab from the edges and if possible use cotton gloves while handling the print. Make sure to use acid free materials when matting and framing the print to ensure the archival nature of the print isn’t affected by substandard materials surrounding the print. Once framed, clean with a microfiber cloth and refrain from spraying cleaner directly on the glass.

If you went with the ChromaLuxe Metal print, cleaning is simple. If cleaning dust off the service, just wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. If you are trying to remove fingerprints or grease, an all purpose cleaner can be used since the metal print is chemical resistant.

Acrylic prints are to be cleaned just as you would a framed fine art paper print. Use a microfiber cloth and avoid spraying cleaner directly on the acrylic.

Make sure to use microfiber cloths and avoid using paper towels or other cloths as they can lead to tiny scratches to the surface of metal, acrylic or glass.

  • I’m collaborative, honest, and straightforward. I’m passionate about my photography and if I can spread that passion and excitement to someone else, I will.

Working directly with the artist allows you to have full access to me. There’s no customer service person you have to go through to get answers. Together we build a relationship and collaborate to make sure you get exactly what you want. You may also gain early access to new pieces before they go live on the website.

Working directly with me also allows you to support an artist and support conservation efforts through different organizations. Every print sold sees 5% of the final price go to 1 of 5 nature conservations of your choice.

  • Photography is my #1 passion and conservation is a close #2. All my photography is done in an ethical way.

I take care to follow the “No Trace Left Behind” principles while out exploring.

While photographing wildlife, I do not use any baiting or calls to attract them. I am a guest in their world and do not want to disturb them or make them uncomfortable in any way. If I start to see any change in the animals behavior due to my presence, I leave the area as to not endanger the wildlife. If they are focused on me, they are not focused on something else that they should be.

  • No, never. Every photo of mine is true to the scene in front of me when I captured the image. There are no sky replacements or subjects added to the scenes. The most that is done outside of normal color and exposure work is to remove small distractions from the frame like dust spots.

All my photos are shot in RAW format to give me the most latitude and information while editing.

Rest assured that the fine art photo hanging on your wall is true to how I saw the scene in front of me the day the image was made.

  • You can reach me anytime via my contact page. I aim to respond quickly, usually within one business day.
