Behind the Lens: The forecast was calling for fog so I woke up early and headed to Big Meadows to find some compositions. As I hiked around, I came across these two trees standing in the fog and knew I found exactly what I had hoped for. With the dense fog in place to simplify the scene, I aligned the two trees to be balanced but at different distances. The tree in the foreground anchors my scene while the tree in the background starts fading into the fog giving the photo depth. Every time I look at this piece I feel a sense of peace and solitude that soothes the soul.
