Symphony of Stone

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Behind the Lens: I arrived well before sunrise. Being September, the morning was already cold and windy. My wife was smart and waited in the car until the sun was up but I didn’t have that luxury. I knew the shot I wanted from scouting the day before and I was going to stand there for the next 30 minutes waiting for the sun to appear no matter how cold I was. Finally, showtime and the sunrise didn’t disappoint. The way the sun lit up the hoodoos was mesmerizing. With the sun up and the wife ready, it was time to get warmed back up by hiking the Navajo Loop and Queen’s Garden trails. One of the best trails I’ve ever hiked and well worth the effort.
