A female calliope hummingbird flies from flower to flower collecting nectar in Grand Teton National Park.

Nectar Collector

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Behind the Lens: As I hiked around the Schwabacher’s Landing area, there were a few hummingbirds flying around feeding on the flowers. As fast as they move, photographing them was difficult but this female showed no fear coming close on multiple occasions. I stood there observing her patterns and was able to capture a series of images showcasing her. This was my favorite with her bill inserted in the flower.
