Maple Pass
North Cascades National Park, Washington
Behind the Lens: The main reason I chose to head to Washington State at the beginning of October was to capture the golden larches of North Cascades National Park. There are a few trails that show off their beauty but the one I wanted to experience most was Maple Pass Loop Trail. That’s where I captured this view of Ann Lake surrounded by golden larches and rugged mountain peaks. I definitely put in the effort to capture this image at what I thought was the peak of the trail. It wasn’t, I still had a lot of “up” to go. 9.6 miles round trip and 2200 feet of elevation gain but completely worth it for the views.
