Behind the Lens: My flight landed late in Seattle and I made it to my hotel around midnight. The forecast was calling for 100% clouds in the morning so I didn’t figure on trying to get sunrise and wanted to get a little sleep. Still being on Maryland time, I was up early and made the 2 hour drive towards Mount Rainier. I was still running late for sunrise and as I made my way closer to Reflection Lake, I could see the sky starting to glow. I knew I had to get to the lake and get set up. I parked, made it to the shore, set up the camera on the tripod and the sky erupted. I had just made it in time for this amazing sunrise.
