Behind the Lens: While honeymooning in Hawaii, I made the mistake of not using enough sun screen on my feet and ended up with a huge blister on the top of my foot that limited me for a few days. Fortunately our hotel had a nice tropical garden area right outside our door. In the evenings I would spend a little time searching the garden for geckos or birds. One day I noticed some birds up in the trees that had these bright red berries. I went up to the second floor of the hotel so I could get eye level with the birds and was able to catch this Yellow-Billed Cardinal taking a bite from one of the octopus tree berries.
